Default Super charger or turbo?

I'm looking at both options right now. I think I'm leaning toward supercharging right now because I'll get more power through the powerband, and I heard it's more reliable for a daily driver. I'm not going all out crazy so I'll never want to up my boost, so not bieng able to increase the boost isn't really that much of an issue. What are the pros and cons of the systems?

A blower can be a formidable power option. And while I usually am all for supercharging automatics, the automatic paired up to Honda's B18B's is a pretty shitty unit for handling power properly.

As far as the supercharging versus turbocharging arguemenet, it's been beaten to death 40,000 times over, so do a search and do your homework and come to your own conclusions.

I personally prefer turbocharging when it comes to small displacement motors.

This says it alone. Really, just go to google and type something like "differences supercharger turbocharger".

Do more research, because judging by your question, you aren't ready for forced induction. Search. Your damn thread title brought up 413 results on Honda-tech. This topic has been beaten like a dead horse.

I thought I read in one of your old posts that you had an auto, my mistake. I've seen plenty of dyno graphs on supercharged B18bs, trust me it's a waste of time and money. I agree this topic/debate has been beaten like my red headed step child.

yeah the jackson racing charger kit nets about 160 to the wheels with a much more favorable area under the curve. i mean yeah this is a decent amount, but for 2+ grand i'd like to see better numbers than that. you'd be a decent match for a stock gsr, but still get spanked by type r's, rsx's and such. id rather drop that money into suspension.

I disagree completely, although your options are limited.

Neither Jackson Racing nor Comptech's blowers put out a lot of power, but Vortech's blowers can put down serious figures.

There was a Vortech blown B20/B16 6th gen Si up here a few years ago that ran an 11.1 and was putting down over 600HP. He had no traction. h:

The Vortech blower for the S2000 will also give you 300HP+.

They all don't put out a lot of power. Just because the Vortech puts out decent power numbers doesn't mean anything. The power is in the upper part of the powerband in a very narrow section, so it is useless for daily driving.

Are you going to sit there and tell me that a laggy, power stealing $4000 Vortech supercharger is better than a turbo setup for half the price making more power and having boost come on earlier?
