86-87 Integras run a vacuum advance distributor, 88-89 use an electronic advance. They are not interchangable. If you are using the old harness and computer, use the old vacuum advance distributor.

If it doesn't fit, then I think you are going to have to go with the electronic one. Which means you will have swap ecus probaly, and the 88rs' wiring harness.

The mount point on the cylinder head is different? How odd.

If you want to use that engine, I guess you'll have to convert to an '88-89 electrical system.

hey rotorphile.
it has been tracked to a one wire difference.
is it even possible for an '87 cpu to run the '88 electronic advance distributor.

Default how about the details on that helpinalva

I ran into the same problem.put an 88 motor into an 87 car,you can change the top cam cap on the distributor side with the 87 model and you can bolt on the 87 distrib with one bolt.also just put the crank sensor in the other hole and it will bolt up with one bolt as well.I also put the 87 intake manifold on so i could use the 87 engine wiring harness
