Default What is a good kind of tire for my '00 Integra?

Hello Acura fans. I am needing a new set of tires for my 2000 Integra. I have no idea what brands of tires are worthy for the job. Are the "discount tire" websites ok? I found these results:

http://www.discounttiredirect.com/di...46&rd=15&ar=55

on one of the websites. A friend of mine recommended the Falkens. Or I have heard of "Lo-Pro"? I heard that was a fancy tire. Any kind of direction or recommendations you guys can give me, I appreciate. Because all I know about cars is how to put in gas, change oil and put in stereo systems. Thanks!!

ok... you need to do your homework... im assuming you use your car primarily as a daily driver and you don't really care about the handling characteristics of it. how much are you looking to spend. falkens are a top of line tire with very quick wear... but great handling char's, so they wouldn't be ideal for you. "lo-pro" is just slang for "low profile" indicating that the sidewall is very small.

heres a basic tire code
255/45/R16
^ ^ ^ ^
1 2 3 4

1) 255cm wide
2) 45% of that 255cm = the sidewall (height) of tire
3) Radial
4) diameter of tire

so start doing your homework and deciding what you want to do with your tires

Well I'm trying to do homework here...well get help with it at least. I have my tire size. 195-55-r15. And yes, it will just be used for daily driving. A lot of freeway, I plan on doing some road tripping soon actually. So if Falken's aren't recommended, what are? I am hoping to spend...not a lot. Although, I don't know what an expensive tire is. I was hoping $400 or cheaper? Can you find anything good for that much?

Also, I'm from Minnesota, so something that can handle any weather condition. And like I said before, something that will last a while, I want to do a lot of freeway traveling.

Ok cool. Thanks, guys. Any recommendations on where to buy tires? Is there anything better than the online sites discounttire.com or discounttiredirect.com?

I have the Nitto NT 450 Extreme Performance. No complaints. Very good tire for the money IMO. A few of us here have those. I also purchased those from discount tire direct.com. Free shipping, and no tax I think...because they are out of CA if I stand corrected.

I've had very good luck with www.tirerack.com. Do some searching on there. They have reviews from many people that have bought tires and used them for different things. You may also want to call them to get their recommendations.

I definitely second using www.tirerack.com they're really a great site, great support and good prices. just go there, enter your car in, go to tires, and select what kind of tires you're looking for. For you, look under "All-Season Passenger Tires" and pick anything under and including "Performance All-Season"

from there, just look at the ratings, and if you want more, read the reviews. Tirerack has more information about these tires than most people know what to do with, so I would highly recommend them, as they defintiely know their stuff.

oh, and I don't mean to shoot you down centerforce99, but those Nittos would be ridiculously overkill for what verb1999 intends on using his tires for. Also, those things would be useless in the snow.
