Default For anyone using a prostreetonline.com timing belt kit

Are you pleased with the parts? The reason I'm asking is because the timing belt I got in this kit is aftermarket. My family and friends are telling me that it's pretty sketchy putting on a belt that's not distributed by Honda.

Prostreetonline timing belt kits

I couldn't find any reviews so I thought I'd post up before I put these replacement parts on and possibly grenade my motor.

I'd listen to your parents, frankly.

That belt is the mission-critical part and I would pay the OEM premium for peace of mind. :hsd:

However, I have not heard stories of the PSO belts failing prematurely.

Hmmmmmm, I'm thinking about ditching the belt for a genuine Honda belt.

how much extra could an oem timing belt possibly cost that it's not worth the extra money?

looks like "$153.xx" is the cost of this... i spent $210.xx when i got my timing belt kit from honda direct... so the difference is miniscule... $60 is not worth your engine giving out on you

Yeah, given $57 shipped (for the timing belt alone) from eBay Acura of Escondido, it's hard to not go OEM.

That's a real good price. I can't wait for shipping from California though. I'll have to go to a local Acura dealer instead, I'll pay more but oh well. Thanks for the find though! I'll keep Acura in Escondido in mind when I need parts in the future.

Is this a sarcastic reply?
I don't cheap out on my car if that's what you're wondering. I'll have no problem throwing the prostreetonline belt in the trash for an OEM Honda belt. I just purchased the kit because I thought it was a good deal for good parts. People put the idea in my head that using a non Honda timing belt is not a good idea.

Oh yeah and some members in the past said prostreetonline used OEM honda parts.

Click for past thread . Why didn't I get Honda parts?

i wasn't being sarcastic, i was merely trying to make a point. if they use oem honda parts, great. i would call prostreetonline and ask THEM, otherwise, you can't assume it's an oem part. we just have your best interest in mind here, that's all. i want everyone's car to run perfect, get great gas mileage, etc.

I bought the prostreetonline kit: 400 miles a-okay.
