Default Quick Power

Hey, I was just wondering what is the quickest way to get me some power. I already have a Top end gasket set, a good cylinder head, Cam Gears and Shaft, and just got new valves and springs put in, what should i do next to grab me some good power... unfortunately money is a problem and i have to keep in under $1000... so if you have any good suggestions i would really like to hear them! Thanks yal.

Assuming you've got the supporting modifications for your built cylinder head -- intake, header & exhaust -- the next logical step would be nitrous oxide injection and the requisite fuel system upgrades.

Zex builds a nice dry nitrous setup good for 55 whp when jetted conservatively. Combined with a bottle heater, opener, purge kit, fuel pump and a set of [colder] sparkplugs, you should come in under $1000 by a fair margin.

adjustable pulleys, header, catback, and upgardes in your fuel system will give you a lil bit more....

um, have you gotten it tuned yet? cause you've built the head (pretty much), so the stock ecu's gonna be pretty crappy with those new parts in.

you could always get some Unorthodox under drive pullies that will give you a little extra power and torque for about 300.00

^ eeh, maybe you'll get a tiny bit more to the wheels with those lightweight pulleys, and it might be a bit noticeable to the butt dyno, but at the same time you're noticeably lowering the efficiency of the alternator, PS pump, and AC condensor, which isn't always a good thing.

Exactly. For $300, you're netting maybe 3hp across the rev range.
And I'm still wary about aftermarket crank pullies and the potential issues of harmonic balance.
