Dont forget to put the head gasket on properly.
Hope it all comes back together without any problems.

I was replacing the valve seals, so I figured I might as well put in some ITR valve springs to go with my CTR cams and rev a little higher. If I can make power that high, why not?

Oh you know I triple checked before I placed that head back on the block.

I will be ripping it apart again tonight to see if I can find that improperly installed valve spring.

I just used a set of pliers. Make sure they are set to open as far as they can so they can get a better grip on them. Pull on the seals as hard as you can while wiggling them a little bit and the rubber holding them to the guide will give. You pretty much have to pull until you are sweating and your whole body starts shaking.

After 148k miles on mine, they were a little stubborn, so you just have to keep pulling and wiggling until they come off.

Update:

I got the GSR springs back in there and the ticking is gone. I went through all the ITR springs beforehand to see if I messed up installing them and they were all good, so I can't really figure out why they were making so much noise. At this point, I don't really care since I am so pissed that I had to go through all that effort and in the end, just had to put the stock ones back in.

The whole weekend was just a huge mindfuck, so hopefully after a valve adjustment, the valvetrain will sound like it did before I decided to mess it all up.

I hate when that happens. It seems like just about everytime I decide to go out and tackle a project or issue with my car, I just end up making things worse or accomplishing nothing.

Been there dude. The first time I ever dropped cams in my 89 Integra w/the zc engine it was all over the place idle wise, was burning real rich and going through gas like a son of a bitch. It was quick, but I could not drive it like that. Thought I was doing something good by adding power, but it the end just ended up putting the stock cams back in. So what was the point is what your feeling right now. You'll get over it.

Shitty mang,
At least you have the brains and the tools to get the job done though, man.
Best of luck getting her running again!
