Understeer - Hopping?

Understeer - Hopping?
When I go into a corner fast, the car understeers. But, it's not like the front end keeps sliding/pushing wide. Instead, there it feels like the front is hopping while running wide. Is this a tire or suspension issue? My current setup is a stock suspension with Falken Azenis tires on a 15" GSR wheel.
Any thoughts are appreciated. Thanks.

From what you describe, it sounds like your suspension is bottoming out due to insufficent compression damping.
The understeer issue is a common plight of most front-wheel drive cars. To counter it, you're looking at comprehensive upgrades to the suspension system.. from springs and dampers to bushings and anti-roll bars.

Yeah, your dampers may be bad.
Understeer is normal, especially in tight corners, on larger radius corners it's fairly easily to deal with. If you get good with braking hard and releasing it at the right moment while coordinating it with the turn in at the right speed you can mitigate the understeer considerably and even induce oversteer.
