That was a quick shipment. I've been considering this radiator; let us know how well it works once you put it on.

replaced my radiator on my ls 01' from a reputable radiator company here locally and payed 143.00 with a cap. installed in less than 2 hrs and i have no complaints. It runs at the exact temp my factory one did. It is also an all aluminum unit without plastic caps like the factory model. Look around locally and you might be able to find something a little cheaper and also save you the shipping costs associated with online or ebay purchases. Good luck.
ps. it is also all gloss black which is a plus for my black 01'.

I will let you know how it works. I thought my water pump was leaking but it's my radiator (81K miles on it). I hope to have it changed by Wednesday evening. I seem to be having a lot of problems with the car lately. My AC also stopped working because a little resistor or something on the control board behind the AC botton burnt out. I could not find the problem so I took it to a mechanic who found the bad board and ordered a used one from a junk yard. (new is $600.) I think I can fix the old one with a $1 part from Radio Shack. So I guess I will be selling one of them on ebay.

My radiator has been showing some signs of leaking lately. It appears to be leaking from around the plastic end caps, mainly on top. I may try to fix it for now with JB weld or something.

Also, ever since I replaced my stuck-open thermostat with another new OEM one, my temp gauge sits at a little less than half way. The needle lines up with the left side of the temperature icon on the gauge (so maybe 45% of the way or so). Is this normal? It seems kinda hot but I wouldn't really know since my temp gauge always used to read all the way on C.

I was hoping to have it put in tonight but I ran into problems with my rear struts. I had to drill out the bolts on the lower control arm. So, now I need 2 new bushings.

I was wrong wit hthe stant part number above. The stant cap # is 11233

I don't know if you are checking back to see when I got the radiator installed so you can see if it's any good, but I have not gotten it in yet. I am still working on the struts (rusted bolts).

I hope to have it done by Saturday :(

I am trying to show a few things in the pics below.

The black radiator was bought at Advanced Auto or Super Trak about 4 years ago and was put in the car at 135,000 miles and the car now has 217,000 miles.

The temp. gauge with the OEM only rose 1/4 of the way on the guage BUT the temp. guage rose 1/3 of the way wit hthe black radiator.

I was going to change this radiator because it was not cooling the engine very well BUT then someone also told me that it was leaking. Obviously, you can see why it was leaking. I can assure you that I will never buy another radiator from Advance or Super Trak.

The aluminum radiator is the new one that I hope to have in my car on Saturday and I bought from a company that I stated above. (I forgot who).

I tried to show the size of the passage ways in the radiator in the pics but the pics of the old radiator did not come out too weel, but you can see the size if you look close. The passages in the new one are double the size of the old one.

Oh, the old radiator was NOT damaged by rocks because the evaporator is in front of the radiator and it is not damaged.

I hope this helps.

The pic below shows why I have been delayed in putting in the radiator. I hope to get the timing belt and radiator in tomorrow. I just got done the struts (rusty bolts)... and I am soooo tired :(

A water pump bolt broke today while removing the pump... <sigh>

It never ends. I bought an angle drill from Lowes and I drilled a very precise hole in the bolt and then I screwed a screw extractor into the bolt and the extractor broke off in the engine... <sigh> Now I am really stuck. Oh, and the gear on the NAPA water pump is much smaller than the OEM pump so I will be returning it.

Man, you are having some bad luck. And it all started with a simple radiator leak. It'll all be worth it when your done. Thanks for the pics and detailed explenations. I have more options now.
GOOD LUCK the rest of the way!!!
