Default premium unleaded in an acura integra gs-r

I am currently looking to purchase a 1996 acura integra gs-r and i was told that u can only put premium unleaded in this car. is this true and if so what are the possible damages that can be done to the car?

I've never heard of this. My 325i had a sticker above the gas guage stating to only use premium gas but I've never heard this about Integra's.

Just put the right gas in the tank. There is a 10 cent per gallon difference in price for each grade of fuel.

Here is what you "save" when using 89 octane on a fill up: $1.30

Here is what you "save" when using 87 octane on a fill up: $2.60

I'll never understand why people are worried about "saving" such a small amount when you could possibly damage your car. I'd find other ways to save money. Maybe cut down on the lap dances. Instead of having 5 beers at the bar, have only 4. Instead of taking her to a fancy restaurant, take her to McDonalds.

"Yeah... I saved a couple bucks in gas, but I'm not getting the mpg like I did before."

"Yeah... I saved a couple bucks in gas, but I blew up the engine."

lol^ so true. actually i get better MPG on 93 in my civic then on 87. I went an extra 50 miles and paid "2bux" more.
it only matters if you have a crazy dodge ram 3500 and your tank is a like a 40gallon. but with our cars it doesnt matter. with my GSR w/90k on her driving nice i get 30MPG driving FUN i get 25MPG well worth 93octane and well worth dropping gears. NOT SAYING i like the gas prices BUT ill pay for the 93oct. SHIT when i got my teg it cost me 12bux to fill her up. now its about 25ish mabye. oh well
PAY TO PLAY
DO IT, u wont look back

OH if you plan on doing a lot of mods get a 95GSR or lower. 96 is when OBD2 was intorduced and the same yr they took out the factory oil cooler. you wont have heat problems stock BUT i heard you could run into some if you boost it. ask around

Try filling up a 15 gallon tank with 100 octane.

Vtec needs the higher octane fuel for the higher compression, you will mess up your engine. Just put premium

you will not mess up the engine. you will get lower fuel economy(to the point where it surpasses the extra money paid for premium) and you will not be able to get the car to switch to the second vtec cam profile.
reason: it has a knock sensor.
