premium unleaded in an acura integra gs-r

If it starts pinging then run higher octane.
Now with my Durango because of the mods that I've done to it I have to run higher octane to keep it from pinging(plus other mods). There are tricks at least with V8's that you can do to keep it for pinging that might apply here also but I'm just getting back into the import seen because I needed a daily driver since I was tired of paying $150 a week in gas. And I need something to drive while I pull my Durango a part for more mods. Here are some of the tricks (someone jump in if I'm wrong about Honda's). But I would think it would also apply here.
Run a cooler spark plug (a degree or two cooler), cooler T-stat, and if you can trick the ECU into riching the mixture then you can keep it from pinging as much.

The POTENTIAL is there to damage your engine and the couple of dollars you save will not make up for your lost fuel economy. You will also lose performance. If there is knock, the knock sensor will pull timing... thereby reducing power. I have no idea why people try to cheap out on gas... it's just not worth it. I guess the manufacturers have no idea what they are talking about when they tell you what fuel to use.

You are speeding.
You are on "E". I hope that you were on your way to a gas station.
That's a nice watch.

reason: it has a knock sensor.
