Default hks hi power exhaust

what up peeps, i'd like to know if anyone has the hks hi power exhaust and tell me if its has a real nice deep sound to it. i'm not looking for anything raspy, just real deep. can anyone tell me if this one is like that? and if any others sound like that, which brand should i go with?

i don't own it.... but i can tell you that it's a very loud exhaust... as far as the exhaust note: because it's a straight through exhaust.... the sound will be determined more by what else you have in your exhaust system.... cat? resonator? header? all of those will play a crucial role to the sound... as well as what diameter piping you have

Default mod chips

hey teg,of course my ls redlines @ 6900 rpms. i keep seeing chips that will add hp to my ride. how reliable are those chips? for the time being, i only plan on the basic add ons til way later but i want a higher redline. these chips show an 8500 rpm limit for my non vtec ride. do you know much of them? would it be a good investment? thanks bro!

the chip is absolutely bullshit... having someone tune your car by what it "should" be is a bad idea... not to mention your car has the ability to tune for minor things (I/H/E)... the chip is absolutely pointless to a basic engine like yours.... to "raise" your rev limit... get a good set of aggressive cams + retainers + springs and get a professional tune.

remember if it sounds too good to be true.... it probably is

I had this exhaust on my 93 gs and now on my 99gsr. It's loud on both, but deeper on the 93 gs. I had identical setups on both. Dc sports headers, test pipe, hipower exhaust. Quiet when idling, growls when the gas is tapped and really loud when vtec kicks in. Only complaint I have is that I need to get dynamat to hear my radio. It's not raspy by any means. Only other complaint I got is that I can't use my dcsports rear lower tie bar. The hks, doesn't follow the original muffler piping over the suspension. It goes under it.
