I guess that is one way to do it. I guess in my mind I figured that it weighs like 150 or something...I just picture it being awkwardly heavy. Looks like you pulled it off though.

It is very awkwardly heavy. Weighing in at 145 lbs on a good day, an 80 lb tranny is very uncomfortable on my chest.

Now you know what it is like to weigh as much as me.

wow, that looks great, but the cost is a bit too high for me. i couldnt afford the down time, and if the headlight(s) are damaged for some reason, then you are screwed and have to invest all that work/money into it all over again.

if anything, i think i will just get a plug and play kit, and just aim my headlights properly. that will probably be good enough for me. but props to you for your set up bro!

I have the plug and play kit and it isn't very comparable to it. I will post some pics comparing it when I get home, but it is like comparing apples and oranges.

yes that is what i have heard too. they produce hotspots so the light distribution is not very good, the cutoff is not very clean, the glare is bad, etc... i just need something a little better than the crappy halogen output from the stock projectors; but i dont want to blind people either. i also what something that is fairly replaceable too. if you damage one of your retrofitted headlights, then you are screwed, because not only do you have to get a new headlight, but you have spend all the effort and money of getting the right parts and then installing everything all over agian for another retro. with plug and play you dont have to worry about that. i guess i am just lazy and cheap....

pics of your setup would be nice to see just for a comparison though. thanks.

Mine aren't too bad in terms of hot spots and the cutoff is pretty crisp. It is mainly the light output and the color that varies greatly between mine and his. Unfortunately, out of all the shots I took the other night, none of the ones comparing the two came out since I don't have a tripod.
