engine swap (TL or CL)

engine swap (TL or CL)
i'm looking for a good engine swap to go into my '97 integra. is it possible to swap in the motor from an acura CL or TL? also, since most of the engines are automatic, what's the best easily-found transmission i could use with those engines in case the best deal i can find happens to be with an automatic tranny? thanks for your help.

To the best of my knowledge that would be more or less impossible without doing HUGE amounts of modification to the engine bay and probably the frame. The teg is designed for a 4 cylinder engine, unless you get the 2.2CL engine, they're gonna be 6 clyinder engines and again, way too big.
Out of curiosity, what is wrong with the engine in your car now? And is it a b18b or b18c1? (I'm assuming b18b)

a tl or cl swap would result in extreme damages to your financial comfort.
in the end not worth the money and down time.
if you want the biggest easy(easier than tl/cl), go with an H22. want easy, go with any b series. or just spend your money on a turbo for your b18.

The J-series V6s are much larger than the B-series Inline-4s. When combined with larger transmission, I doubt you'll have anywhere near enough width in the engine bay to mount the drivetrain.
What model Integra do you own?
A GSR? Or an RS/ LS / GS? 4-door or 2-door?
Where do you live? In California, your options are somewhat limited.
The most realistic option for an Integra of your model year is a bolt-on turbocharger. GReddy makes a CARB-legal kit for the DC2 & DC4 coupes, which can be installed on the DB7 & DB8 sedans as well.
Lastly, welcome to HAN.

i live in vancouver, and own a 5-speed integra "anniversary edition". pretty much the GS. 140hp.
i got the idea because i was looking at the type R engine for a swap, but i wanted an engine with more torque then the type R, but still around 200hp...ergo, the TL and CL engines..
there's absolutely nothing wrong with my engine now, and i wouldn't do anything unless i was completely sure of the change. however, i'm wanting more power out of my little integra..more pull while accelerating.
thanks for the quick replies..and since the TL and CL are out of the question, what's my best move in this situation?

The MSRP on the GReddy kit is about US$3200, it will add 50+hp and 60+ lb/ft of torque on 91 octane petrol. If you get 93 or 95 up in your area, there's no reason why you could make about 210hp at the wheels with a bit of dyno time and a professional tune.
