Default a very sad end to an all to short story..

My transmission has gone out for the last time.

I'm sorry. I truly am. I love my car and I wish I could drive her in all her glory just once more. It saddens me that I cannot afford another transmission rebuild or, more importantly, the proper transmission for the motor.

Lesson learned: In the long run, an RS trans on an SiR-G simply does not work. And then you cry. Because you're out of money when you need it most. I would give anything for a new transmission. :wtc:

And that is all. I have no idea how I'm getting to work tomorrow.

:wtc: Only one thing to do... :drunk:

Something doesn't add up here.
Why are you having persistent transmission troubles?

Since this is the first I've heard of your problem, it seems like overkill to sell the car..

In any case, it would require dropping the trans and taking it apart - no less than a $600 job. And IF it's the throwout bearing, it'll be no more than $600. If I need a new trans it's no less than $1400, and if I can get mine rebuilt, it's no less than $1200.

All of which I simply cannot afford. I have no lift, no tools necessary to try it myself... No time.. This shit kills me because I love this car and would do anything to keep it. I just don't have the cash to pay someone or the skill to do it myself.

The reason my transmission troubles persist is because it's an RS transmission on a GSR motor. It just can't handle to load. I put another RS trans on there last time because the trans was $600 and the GSR trans was almost $1600 (without labor).

Well, unless you have another $350 GSR trans, the one you just sold doesn't do me much good.

Why can't an RS tranny hold up to a GSR motor?
