Default Engine Build Question

As in my recent thread I am interested in putting a lsvtec precision turbo setup in my gsr with eagle rods and je pistons and rings. My question is how hard is this is there any sites you know of that explain the installation and where do you get an engine sleeved at?

www.goldeneaglemfg.com -sleeving service-I was going to have mine sleeved, but then hondata came out with the s300...only need blockguard with that kind of tuning...

you can also check out
www.dartonsleeves.com

or
www.aebsracing.com
pm westcoaststyle for more info on AEBS t-sleeves

AEBS costs, more, that's about all I know about it...I hear good things about all of them, though!!

darton makes a excellent sleeve in my opinion and they will also install them. i purchased my darton sleeves and had them installed for about 1100, all three of the big mfg will sell and install your sleeves for you all you have to do is ship the block. as an alternative option if your extremely serious about this motor and have the extra cash you can pick up a dart block for another 1200.

www.z10eng.com is an AEBS dealer/installer and I recommend them over AEBS directly. They guarantee something like a 2-week turn-around. AEBS took 2 months on my block.

I'd get something better than JE pistons and Eagle rods.

Check out www.importbuilders.com for good stuff. Lots of good products, and lots of good info on products and setups.

Depends on the goals. I made 290whp on 12 psi with eagle rods/JE/SRP pistons at 9.5:1 CR. They're not bad components for the price, but I wouldn't try to push them very hard...

I want to push some serious psi and have some crazy whp numbers. But I want that to last I dont want something that will mess up. I am willing to spend some extra $$ to make it right and get the best stuff. Does importbuilders have a nice rep and valued products? What would it cost to get a block fully built and sleeved?

That's not exactly measurable and something to build for: "serious psi and crazy whp." Try again. :happysad:

What are your goals for this motor?
1/4 track, street, autoX?
What's your budget?
What turbo are you planning to run or are you thinking SC?

Looks like you have a lot more research to do...

If I'm going to spend money on building a block, I'm gonna do it right the first time. If this guy's thinking about sleeving his motor, might as well go with good internals.

I am already running a turbo. I am currently pushing 8psi on stock internals. What I mean about the high psi and whp is that I want to build the block with sleeves bore it to 86.0mm with top of the line rods and pistons, rings then get the crank micropolished. Then I will probably build the head as well. I want to do a b18a1 block like this and put it on my gsr head for a fully built ls/vtec turbo. I want to run as much psi as I can safely with the build that I would have which in turn would give me a larger whp. I just want to have the block completly built so it can safely run without blowing. My current turbo will withstand 680hp but my intercooler is spearco rated at only 320 so it will have to be upgraded along with my downpipe and I will have to go 3inch pipe on the exhaust turbo back instead of the 2 1/5 turbo back I currently have. I want to be powerfull on the streets because this is where the car is most of the time. Tracks on occasion. Money is not an object when it comes to building a engine properly. I looked at importbuilders they look to have some nice stuff so I may just send the block to them and let them sleeve it with their darton sleeves for 1300 and then pistons rods and rings. And hell I may even send them the head and have it done too lol. I would like to see power from around 20psi with 400whp daily if possible.
