Hey is there any way to find out what the factory color of the car is by the VIN number? That might also help solve the mystery of whether or not it was in an accident for sure.

As of now I'm still leaning towards it was not in an accident, despite what carfax says. The guy I bought it from seems very helpful and nice, but that might also mean he's trying to hide something, but I doubt it.

There is a color code sticker inside the door jamb. vin#'s don't indicate the vehicle color. But once you see the car in person, just open the hood and check out the color of the engine bay or the trunk hinges.

Be wary of what the seller says, no matter how "nice" they seem to be. I got screwed with my '94 gsr because the guy i bought it from seemed really nice and helpful but in reality he was the shadiest person I've ever met. No joke. He hid a lot of problems from me that I didn't find until well after I had bought the car. Things like pulling the CEL bulb so I wouldn't see that it was throwing codes...just be careful.

And once you have that code, refer to our Integra FAQ; we have a color table that breaks down available colors by model year.

(There's a link in my signature at the bottom of this post.)

Well... it's kind of too late for that. He committed to buying it by using eBay's buy-it now option.

As he bought it the day after the auction started, which maybe was too quick. If the seller was in the same area as he, he should have gone down in person to inspect the car before buying it. White gsr sedans are rare though, even rarer in 0BD1 form. I'm sure that it's a car worth buying and keeping. I love my gsr sedan... a lot.

Me and my friend have put alot of time and effort in to looking up stuff about it, thoroughly inspecting the carfax report, asking the guy as many questions as possible, thought of all the scenario's of what could have happened to it, etc. Granted we did all this after I bought it, lol... but I'm sure someone else would have jumped on it if I hadnt, 4Door GSR's in good condition are hard to find.

We are fairly certain its what he says it is, was theft recovery, seats and rims stolen, they are obviosly not stock.

The car is 700 miles west of me, lol... so yeah, a test drive before buying would have been impossible on such short notice.

What I can say for sure is that as long as it looks as clean in person as it does in the pictures, nothing looks suspicious about it, and it drives nice, I will be happy... outside of that whatever is wrong with it can be fixed, after all, its a Honda

Thanks for all the replies, its helped me figure out alot about it without being able to see it in person.

Well, here's hoping that things work out to your advantage.

I'm sorry I didn't see your thread eariler.. h: DB8s are rare in general, so any minor issues are well worth the time and effort to correct them IMO.

Lastly, welcome to HAN.
