Hey all how are you doing today? I picked up a 1995 Integra GSR 4 door today. It has some engine problems that I need to figure out. The guy I bought it from said that he thought the VTEC system was going up in it. The last time he drove it it wouldn't go above 40 mph on the way home. So he pulled the valve cover to check things out. And that is the way I picked it up today. So I haven't had time to look at it yet. I am going to put it back together and see what I have. If the motor is bad what are my options? Where is the best place to buy a rebuild kit? Is it better to just buy a used JDM motor? I originally bought the car to part out. But hind sight being 20/20 I am seriously thinking about pulling the motor if need be and rebuilding it. My Regal and Dually are killing me in gas/fuel prices.
It has a FnF nose on it at the current moment. But that is coming off. Does the GSR use a different nose that a RS/GS?
Does anybody know the production number for the 4 door GSR?

 

No the only diff bumpers are the 94-97 and the 98-2001 But If ur getting a new bumper I suggest the latter. Abot the engine try to diagnose the problem first try to give us more info, we can't help u unless u do.

 

my friend had a problem like this on his integra, he replaced every possible part on it, even had other teg owners help him out and in the end it was his spark plugs were bad, meh go figureh:

 

Thanks for the info guys. I have to get unloaded off of the trailer and into the garage and start playing with it. If the motor is bad what kind of special tricks do I need to know? Where is the best place to get the parts? I also am going to need one 17" white Motegi MR3 wheel. Where is the best place to get wheels.
