I have a Megan Header its not too bad. Its def. Not the best But I noticed a decent gain in torque and HP. again you get what u pay for and if I would have had 500bucks I would have gone DC or something, but I only had 200 so I went w/ Megan

What makes one company's header better than the other?? Is it the design?

it is the design as well as the diameter of the piping... generally the diameters don't vary too much... so then it leaves the design to be best..

one thing that will always determine the cost..is whose name is stamped on it.

as far as the design... a good flowing tubular manifold will flow much better than a weak rough cast manifold... the way air travels through tubes is spinning along the walls. so if you were to make a rough cast style manifold... the walls aren't as smooth, the curves are less fluid.

so to answer your question simply... yes the design matters... thats how companies like TODA can make a race header that will make 15hp at the wheels when coupled with toda exhaust... and DC using SIMILAR (but not exact) design will only make 2-3hp tops....

in short... u get what you pay for

Thanks for the breakdown.....

If I get a Toda header...with an Apex'i exhaust...what would be the most I can gain out of that setup? I know it's kind of a broad question, but I guess I want to try to get the best gains from headers and exhaust. That way I can determine what I want to buy. Also...is Toda 2.5" at the collector?

yes i believe toda is 2.5... check the site though b/c im not sure... you would get even better gains w/ a toda catback and high flow cat than u would with an apexi... look into both companies and see which u prefer

my boy wants to give me a two-piece header set with the gasket for free. he bought it for an F23. is it true that it will fit a B18?

By the way, what do you guys think about OBX headers?

I have DC Sports 4 into 1 header... no problems. No cracks and it tucks up nicely and I have a lot of ground clearance... hence no dents. Being that it is my daily driver, I should have gotten the stainless steel version as the coating is coming off and the header is starting to rust. Once day when I have time, I'll put the stock manifold back on and have the header re-coated.
