Default Please Help Me!! Car Wont Start

My acura wont start. I have a 1990 Integra DOCH, non- vtech. I put the key in and try to start it. It turn over and chugs. The battery has power cuz i tried to jump start it. A few ppl have told me that it may be the fuel pump, but im not sure. What do you think it could be?

Could you be a little more descriptive with the sounds/actions the car makes when you try to turn it over? use as detailed adjectives as possible so we can analyze this for yeh.

Welcome to HAN

well, you can tell if its the fuel pump pretty easily. turn the key to accessory maybe (?) and then listen. you should be able to hear the fuel pump priming.

by "priming," Red means you'll hear it "Click" into it's active state, kind of a vague noise so you have to listen for it.

Well i found out that its not the fuel pump. I took a plug out and i see fuel spitting up. There is no spark though to the spark plug. Im guessing its the distributor sonce i just got a new cap and rotor. Could this be the problem or is it something else?

How did you check for the spark? There is a wrong way to check for it and you could have made a bigger problem by blowing your coil.

i took out a plug, put it to a piece of metal and tried to turn on the car. There was no spark. I dont think i did any more damage. I really need some help in determining what the problem is exactly.

Based on what you posted I personally think it's your distributor cap. Because if the engine is cranking and not turning over that simply means that there is'nt any electric going to the sparkplugs to cause a fiiring. So have the cap looked at if you cant' do it.

do a tune-up (plugs, wires, cap and rotor) and then see what happens. If your engine isnt starting up, remember it can ONLY be 3 things:

Air
Fuel
Ignition

Well, after changing, plugs, weires, cap and rotor, we found out that the car still has no spark. someone, who was looking at the car realized my timing bely was loose. Could this be causing the problem?
