Hello, Im New To This Site I Just Registered. I Have A 2000 Gs Integra With A B18c Swap And Ls Tranny. I Have A General Question, Im Not Sure If I Have The Sir B18c Or The Type R B18c, How Do You Tell? One Has 178 Hp And Other Has 200hp, Id Definately Like To Know. Thanks

 

look to the left of the exhaust manifold, should be a little plate attached to the engine, or an imprint, I can't remenber which that has the engine code..
b18c1 = GSR engines, b18c5 = Type-R engine (note: you'll see ppl say ITR a lot, that'd be a type-r, so you're less confused.)

there's the off chance that it's a japanese crated engine, which, if someone can correct me if i'm wrong, doesn't tell the difference between the 2 engines on the code... there may be a way I don't personally know of, or run it on a dyno and find out what's going on.

if it has a ls tranny im gonna guess its a gsr motor. but ninj4r is pretty much right

 

I kept my original Tranny, Just Got The Engine, So Im Still Not Sure Whether It's A Type R Or Sir But I Guess The Only Way To Tell Is To Dyno It

check the head cast to see if it says p72. p72=gsr p73=type r. or the gsr intake manifold is a dead giveaway

 

yeah, you check the cast, if it's
p72 it's a gsr
pr3 it's a type-r

USDM GS-R is 170HP.
