Default just a quick carbon fiber hood question

I plan on purchasing a cf hood soon for my teg and I'm going to go with VIS or if anyone can recommend a high quality, good fitment hood. But here's my question, do I really need to get some hood pins for it? I do hit the freeway everyday to and from work but it seems as though if it's a good quality hood, it shouldn't need them. I really don't want to drill into my new hood and risk screwing it up at all. What are your guy's thoughts on that?

Thanks all!

Pins are for show purposes. A good carbon fiber hood a proper latch that utilizes the stock latch, so there is no reason for needing hood pins unless you feel like drilling some holes in your carbon fiber hood for that extra security.

It's all about the latch,if it malfunctions then you may perchance be buying a new windshield.Though seriously i say if you install it correctly you shouldn't have any probs,My suggestion no latch*

I have the VIS GT Extreme on my car. It has done plenty of freeway miles and I have had no problems. VIS builds their hoods w/reinforced hoodlatches. When you put that fucker down you feel it click and you know it is not coming up, you can just feel it.

i have a oem vis cf hood. The latch is very secure however while on the freeway i have noticed the sides of the hood (towards the middle) wobbling slightly due to speed/wind and the lack of weight of the hood. i was under the impression that hood pins would solve this issue as normaly the weight of the oem hood tends to pervent this at freeway speeds. would hood pins solve this issue?
