Default Car alarms

Im getting a car alarm very soon, but I dont think ive heard of any brand names. Anyone have experience with alarms, or know some good names I could look at?

PS. I would have searched this first but it keeps saying page cannot be found. Anyone else having this problem?

i will second the viper 791xv

i personally dont have an alarm and never have had one... but i used to work at best buy... did alarm/stereo installs for about a year...

of all the alarms and brands we installed.. the least amount of troubles and the happiest customers were with the viper... the 791xv and 771xv are both badass systems for the cost...

Lo-Jack IMO would be the best way to go.

Thanks for the input guys, I ordered one online for $200 and it will be here next week sometime.

Das, did you install yours by yourself? Or tegbooster, how difficult/what is involved with the intallation. Im sure its not all that complicated, but it would be nice to have a heads up on what to expect
Thanks again

I did install mine myself. I wouldn't attempt it yourself unless you have extensive knowledge of electrical work and have obtained a wiring guide for your application.
