You can make a front-drive car oversteer relatively easily. You just need to stiffen up the rear suspension. The 2.5RS in its stock form also understeers pretty badly at the limit because its rear swaybar is way too small, just like the GSR.

i know it sounds like i am biased b/c i own a scooby, but i've been in the automotive business since i was 14, and my family has been in it for over 40 years.

you'll never overcome the steering issues with a FWD car on a road coarse. the GSR (and the 2.5rs either really) aren't meant for road racing.

HOWEVER, the AWD platform, and the excellent subaru LSD will be a FAR better platform for the track/road. that's just a fact. i've already shown you that the prices for tuning are very comparable, you can get konis, eibachs, etc, plus much more in the way of true auto cross suspension upgrades for the RS like cusco. if you want me to post prices to prove this, i will. koni yellows are koni yellows...

we can argue all day who will win in te straighte, but in the twisties, it's not contest. AWD in and out of the turns will win every time on a road/track competition.
