GSR GSR GSR GSR GSR

Does that answer your question? I think the 2.5's look good but too much trouble to make fast. Buy a WRX for the amount of money you would need to buy a 2.5 and boost it.

yeah you'd take him for sure, but how much did you beat him by?

last year i was in my friend's scoobie 2001 2.5RS (intake, exhuast, header, 3 people in car including me, the driver, and this other guy) while we went up against a GS-R (not sure what year, but it had intake and a header, only the driver in the car)

we (in the scoobie) basically leaped up in front of the GS-R, i mean literally leaped, that is what i like about the 2.5RS, but when we got up to like 75-80ish, the GS-R started pulling hardcore and then passed us up....

cop came weaving through traffic and pulled over the GS-R luckily he only got a warning for squealing his tires

just a mini story, sorry to bore you

in BonzoAPD's words....."GSR GSR GSR GSR GSR....Does that answer your question?..."

that's what i'm saying. it just starts to pull at 80. by the time it catches up, (both little 4 cyls) it'll be 100mph, and who the f*ck goes taht fast? i know you're not taking the little 1.8L to the track, so what am i missing?

you guys are in denial. they are VERY comparable cars, and with mods, the AWD makes the scoob the winner.

OK man, youre dreamin.

A 2.5RS is slow. A GSR will beat it in ANY comprable form. Stock vs Stock. Turbo vs Turbo. I/H/E vs I/H/E. A stock GSR is a quick little car from the factory, the 2.5 is a slug. How do I know? I've had decent time behind the wheel of both cars with the exact modifications.

Once you hit 2nd gear, you WILL walk a 2.5 without a problem, provided both people know how to drive a stick (not even good, as long as you know how to shift) and the cars are in good shape. Thats a fact.

Thanks for the info everyone, but Im bascally going to be making a road race car, so it does not matter to me which is going to be faster in the 1/4 mile, i think the Suby will handle more power better and wont experience as much understeer as the FF GSR, am i right?

it's going to be hard to make it go as fast as the gsr. It has awd whoich will help in understeer and all but it is also so heave because of that. To get it to be fast in a road race is gonna cost you a ton. Get the gsr and do some suspension work if you want it to handle even better.

Hrmm...interesting...a road race car.

I posted earlier that 2.5RS's do real well on low-speed autocross courses, but for road racing, let me put some things into perspective.

A WRX will smoke the 2.5RS and gsr stock for stock anyday, road track or drag strip. Throw in some quality suspension components (can u say LSD), a few power adders, and some weight reduction, and the gsr has a chance of keeping up. The 2.5RS, even with AWD, will require much more money/effort to lay down enough power to harness its AWD. By the time you've spent all that money, you would have been better off getting a WRX to begin with.

The integra platform is very very competent to begin with, and it has much better aftermarket support vs. the 2.5RS, so it will be cheaper to make it go faster. Everyone will always tell you to turbo the 2.5RS, but noone will dispute that for every 2.5RS that has an aftermarket turbo, there are 10+ gsr's that have been turbo-ed.
