and supposedly anything lower than a 2001 2.5RS are bad quality, the engines aren't as reliable as the 2001. don't quote me here but that is what i hear. at least that is what my old autos teacher who is obsessed with Subaru kept saying...
he owned: Subaru Brat, Loyale, SVX
funny I heard the opposite... The 2001+ RS's are basicly a WRX, I hvae heard that the old RS's are much better when it comes to everything plus they have a much more unique look.

Either way though get the GSR and boost it

He posted something that would have blown this up into a massive flamewar. So I edited it.

i just said that you guys got this whole thing wrong. I been on i-club for a while and a 2.5 rs is a good car. It will beat a civic in both handling and power. It has 2.5L so it can have more power. It has AWD so it will out handle any fwd, including integra its not a super car!! And the tranny will hold until you get 250-300 hp, just like in any car. And puitting in a turbo in no biggie. Its kind of a bolt on kit and it will blown if your a moron and runs 12+ psi. Because any car from the factory w/o a turbo has a high compression, and if you run a turbo you need lower compression, so any car will blow if you run 12+ psi! so all you need to do is lower the compression. Or you can do a whole engine build up so it can handle 20+ psi, turbo it and you will have one fast rs and that will be fast and handle really good.

maybe the gsr.. but in the end with more hp, the 2.5 will eat the integra and if you raced on a track with turns, the 2.5 will also win.

Anyone mention how the gearing on the 2.5RS sux0r? Especially that 3rd gear...hrm...

Oh, and while the 2.5 DOES have an advantage stock for stock over the gsr in SoloII/Autox type-courses (low speed+AWD+low-end torque), I can almost guarantee you will have to spend considerably more money to have a 2.5RS outrun a gsr on an all-out road course.

Someone needs to post a stock vs stock dynoplot of the 2.5RS and the GSR and you'll see what I mean.
