Default my auto transmission is dying

i think the automatic transmission on my 1990 GS is dying. i only have 150000 KM but for the last year my automatic transmission has been failing. originally it felt like my transmission was slipping out of 3rd gear and also downshifted very late when breaking or coming to a stop. i had the transmission fluid changed but it never really solved the problem... things have just got progessively worse. now in the morning my car won't shift into 3rd gear unless i rev the engine very high in 2nd gear. i'm assuming i'll have to replace the transmission because i've heard repairs are not very common. can anyone suggest some possible solutions? is it possible that this problem could be caused by something other than a failing transmission? is it possible to repair an automatic transmission or is replacement the only viable option? what does a new/used automatic transmission cost ($CDN/$USD)?

thanks in advance

C.

Maybe you should just get a 5-speed tranny, since you have to replace your auto one anyways.

for a simpler more cost effective soluition first try and change the tranny fluid with honda ATF.

sorry, but it really sounds like your tranny is dying, you can prolly pick up another one from the local salvaged yard for ~$300 and swap it in yourself....unfortunately there has been very little support for Integra autos
