looking to turbo...need a few hundred more....need recommendations--

-tuning: anyone know anyone in socal that is a good tuner
-revhard/drag/greddy/homemade: what do u guys think...homemade means it can be all custom and i can use one of those pretty little garrett turbos
-any body whose done a turbo kit wanna help out in (714) area
-....im bored so i posted....

being in cali you should go with the greddy kit

even though the directions state that the emanage is not carb exempt the turbo and the intercooler are. :screwy: but whatever

seeing as your in california how would u get around carb issues with a homemade turbo? would u be able to pass emmisions?

i have a "friend" that i can pay 200ish to get my smog...i want power...fuck smog...or i can make it a very fun task to take off and reinstall my turbo every 2 years...that way i keep up with general maitenance'

no he will not do it for everyone...only people *like me* that have known him for the past several years...ne way....besides the point....i dont wana sacrafice power for smog...so im gunna work my ass off every 2 years to pass and then reinstall and resetup everything

well if ur lookin for power as u say what boost numbers do u plan on runnin and what have you done to the block to prepare it to handle high boost? cuz if u just plan on throwin on a turbo setup and dialin it right up to 18lbs or something then u can kiss that motor goodbye relativlly fast. and if it was me and i lived where u did i would go and buy the greddy kit put it on and find someone who is amazing at tuning...

^if u are refering to the cost of tuning that may be...but like im saying every shop is no way near the same...some shops are better at certain programs than others and some say they can tune but really dont know what they are doing....just cuz most shops charge the same doesnt mean they are doing the same quality job

The greddy kit is all good, but if you don't have a smog test operator want to look at your car because it has been modified, it doesn't matter if it is a Greddy kit or a full race 600 hp setup.
