Default Type R cam

How much do you think a '01 Type R intake cam that has never been used is worth? i.e. how much do you think I would get for it on ebay or HAN? Keep in mind it'd just be for the intake cam...

The list price for that cam is $366.57. I'd personally sell it for $290 shipped. Is it in the original Honda packaging? I have no idea what someone would be willing to pay for one itr cam.

Ha...that's kind of funny that you listed that price...

Here's my story:

I listed a set of ITR cams on ebay...intake cam was new (not in box or anything, but never been used...bought it off someone else) and the exhaust cam was used. Well, anyway, I ended up getting $291 out of the set. I shipped 'em out and I guess the buyer is saying the exhaust cam isn't even a type R cam...he said it's a b16a cam. I have since verified that he is correct. I didn't know any better since the guy that gave me the exhaust cam originally, said it was an ITR cam. The buyer said he would still keep the cams if I reimbursed him some of the money back, since I only gave him one ITR cam. Now being as it is that b16 cams aren't worth much, how much should I give him back? Meaning, how much is that new ITR intake cam worth alone?

I personally wouldn't give him any money back. I believe he got a pretty good deal, even though he got the wrong exhaust cam. The fact that he's willing to keep the cams means that he can use them in some way. Explain to him that you will be losing out because the ITR intake cam goes for around $291. If it's possible, ask him to return the cams for a refund.

You could check an online Acura parts dealer for the pricing on the cams.

Select Integra, 2001, Type R in the drop down box. Click list system component, then search for the intake cam.

Here's the part number for reference. 14111-P73-J01

Ok, if that's the case should I offer to reimburse for shipping or no? I'm not a very good businessman...I try to be nice sometimes, I guess....

Fuck that, whether you knew it or not you sold him BUM equipment when it came to the exhaust cam. Not that it matters, it's the intake cam that makes all the difference. I would send him back 50 bucks in good faith since you do see GSR and SI cams going for about a 100 bucks a pair. Ask for the cam back though, since he probably does not need it if he is upgrading a GSR.

You really think he'd be willing to accept $50 and ship the b16 cam back to me though? I don't want to end up getting screwed on this deal but I also don't want to piss the guy off and get a bunch of negative feedback...

On ebay both cams ITR go for about $300-350. Now I know you did'nt know it was a b16 cam. But you did state that they where both ITR cams. It's your mistake for selling them as ITR cams. I would just tell him to send back the cams and you will refund money. Now the shipping part is up to you.

But on a second note the one is worth $300 on the books so he did get his moneys worth. But then again there was one thing stated and he got another.

Ehh it's up to you. I like to make my custumers happy so If I mess up I grant the custumer there money back.
