Default a couple probs on 01 GS-R

Ok a question for other owners, do you have a problem shifting into 1st? i can only shift into first like when im almost stopped, its a real pain in the ass when im trying to autocross. If there is a problem, what can i do to fix it?

Also, i think im also losing hydrolic fluid since occasionally my clutch sticks back towards the firewall and i have to pull it back, what do i need to do there? just fill the hydrolic fluid up every now and then?

thanks ahead of time for the help.

to help you with you first question. hondas have a sort of lock mechanism to prevent from shifting into first if you're going above...say...5 mph. its sucks, but i dont know any way to override that.

Best way to work with it is to rev-match the gear, which I don't really recommend doing, you'll be fine in second.

When you're starting off, if it won't go into gear the first time, don't push it into gear, just let off the clutch and push it back in and try again. Just something to get used to.

Although, if you're having clutch issues, it could be that the clutch isn't engaging.

actually joe, the max speed is 15mph...you need to do some rev-matching to spin up the locking ring

if you're losing hydraulic fluid, first check the slave cylinder for any signs of leakage. then check around the clutch master cylinder and finally around the clutch pedal piston that goes from the cabin through the firewall. usually it'll leak there and you can see the stain in the carpet.

Don't granny shift and double clutch. Works for Vin Diesel while drag racing, wgere it has no place, so it should work on a racetrack. LOL

could be a synchronizer prob, I've seen it on a 94 LS. Try rev matching as previously posted

found the leak, two bolts on/near the slave cylinder, i might need to take it to the shop cause i bleed the hydrolic fluid out and put more in, but i think those two bolts have to be replaced, and thats not for me to do, thanks guys.

It isn't the bolts, it is the slave cylinder. Replace it.
