Default Settle for a pre 98 integra?

I've been in the market looking for another nice integra (a gsr this time) to use as a daily driver. I loved the styling on my 98LS and would like to get another one like it, but the prices for a post 98 gsr are always 8k plus. My question is how hard and much would it cost total to buy a 94-97 gsr instead and swap on the front bumper, lights, rear bumper and lights? Would it be more cost effective that way? Also ive been searching and i hear there are fitment issues with the newer headlights on the older models, can someone confirm this?

thanks
jon

i know what youre sayin bout the nose difference, i know this might piss off someone out there, but i dont like the nose at all on the 94-97,the sunk in round headlights as opposed to the sleek smooth an kinda aggressive look of the 98-01. i have a buddy that did this swap on a 96 gsr ill get in touch with him an ask if he had any problems. i think the hardest thing is finding a newer tegra in a local junkyard, which is an impossibility for me. but you can do anything if your patient enough to look and wait for the right car. keep us posted...

Thanks, there are a lot of bumpers and headlights for sale in the classifieds right here on the boards. The problem ive seen encountered is that the headlights dont mount up as well on the older ones as they do on the newer ones.

Thanks for the feedback guys. There are a lot of front bumpers/headlights for sale right here in our classifieds so locating one is not a problem. Thanks Mean, do you think you can ask your buddy how much he spent total and if there are any fitment issues? I cant wait to get into another Honda

The 94-97 bumper style hides my intercooler better than a 98-01 bumper style would. :rick:
