Default I think my axle went bad, input please.

So much for hondas being reliable. hehehe.... anyways...

So i'm driving back from the gasomoline station, lol, and i start hearing this "thumping" noise. I'm driving in a straight line and its very faint, when i turn right it goes away and when i turn left it thumps even worse(in the right wheel well), so i'm thinking its the passenger side axle. I havent shaked it to check for play yet because i was hot, the engine was hot, and i just wanted to go inside and drink my gatorade.

So i still have to confirm it, but chances are very great that thats what it is, oreilly reman'd ones are $59.99 i think, i wasnt paying attention to the guy, but with a lifetime warranty so screw buying a new one. I really want to go to the track, so i might buy and do it saturday night. Anyways just sharing my frustrations.

Cliff notes: Thumping noise on left turn, not on right, i'm very sure its passenger side axle. Any input is appreciated. THANKS!

Either of your boots leaking cracked or ... gone? Also check your tie rod situation when you check out the axles. :werd:

definitely check for play in the steering knuckle. older integras are notorious for breaking lower ball joints now these days because of age. if everything is okay then your best bet would be the axle. do you feel any of the thumping in the steering wheel?

To check axles, go to a parking lot where you can do 360 degree turns. crank the wheel to either the left and right and slowly accelerate..if it clunks..there fucked...now turn the steering wheel the other direction and go the opposite direction.

I was going to say, a broken axle would result in you not being able to drive.

Well not busted, but CV joints, which would result in me just replacing the axle

Just wondering. If a axle was broken woundn't the car accelerate very slowly if at all? Condidering you really have one wheel drive with one axle broken.

You wouldnt be able to drive at all, because it would be banging around all over the place
