Default Help!! My Integra is shaky when accelerating and when idle

My car is a 95 integra type RS and lately it has been very shaky when idle and when accelerating. It shakes for a few seconds after I shift gears and accelerate and then it stops shaking and is normal again. When I am at a complete stop, the RPM needle is constantly moving up and down. It just doesn't feel smooth anymore. My guess is it has something to do with the throttle body, but I don't know what. My dad and I have been looking at all the possible different things that could be wrong. Anyone have any suggestions? It would be greatly appreciated! Thanx.

Are there any particular speeds that it shakes at? I had a bad inboard CV joint that caused shaking while accelerating from only 60-80 mph. Anything else, it was smooth.

For the idle, tune it up if it hasn't already. New spark plugs, wires, cap/rotor, air filter, fuel filter, etc and see if that fixes it. If not, you have a problem with the idle control system.

Thanks guys for your help. Where are the CV joints located?

Go to Autozone/Advance auto parts. Order either a Chilton or Haynes manual for your car. They are not the greatest, but will give you a good start.

Sounds like either it needs a tune up or the Idle Air Control Valve.

The CV joints are the flexible part of your axle. There is an inboard and outboard CV joint for each axle.

That thing in the back of the manifold in the middle should be your IACV. It is really hard to make out what the writing says, so that is how I will describe it.

Where is the axle located? Is it around the same area as well?

It connects your transmission to the wheels. They are sticking out of each side of the transmission.

the axles are wat ur rotors r connected to. tranny>axles>rotors>wheels

if the cv joints dont fix it, u may have warped rotors which causes ur teg to shake, thats wat mine is. for the idle, i think u need to clean the IACV. still need to do that on mine also lol
