Default Scraping noises from passenger rear...

Hi there!

My 97 Integra LS has about 110,000 miles on it, just had a tune up, and all drive belts/water pump replaced. The brakes were last replaced at about 65,000 miles, but I don mostly interstate driving.

I'm getting a weird scraping noise (seems like it's coming from the rear passenger side.) I had my dad (I'm a girl!) look at my brakes and he said they're fine. What would the scraping noise be?

Thanks!

check if either the caliper is dragging or that pad is worn down...I got a weird scraping noise from my LR brake and it turned out to be a dragging caliper (which eventually completely wore down the pad).

oh, and Shmoo's suggestion is also a prefectly valid one...of course...he's Shmoo :-P

either way, get that wheel off the ground and manually spin it to see if it makes the noise, or if i only makes the noise at road-going speeds. if it does make the noise, try to isolate where it's coming from

hope this helps

Thanks for the info -- it's weird because it only happens sometimes...someone mentioned to me that perhaps I got water in my differential fluid?

I don't know.

It would'nt be that because you have front wheel drive. Might be dust, or the shield.

check if your muffler is fixed properly, maybe its moving around and making the scrapping noise, wheel bearings are more of a low grumble.
