Looking For Reliable Engine Builder In San Diego/orange County
I have a B18C1 motor that I had built by John Campos of Precision Head and Machine in San Diego. I have not installed the motor yet, nor ran it. I have found out from sources that build quality of Precision Head and Machine is questionable, especially with the engine bearings they used.
I am looking for a professional Honda engine builder in the San Diego / Orange County area to possibly look over my motor for a second opinion, and possibly make the motor perfect if it needs it. The block is from a 1996 GSR. The aftermarket parts are JE 9.8:1 81.5mm pistons, Eagle connecting rods, ARP head studs, ARP main bolts, and an STR block guard welded in. The intent with my motor is to be strictly street and smog legal. I will install a 6 psi Jackson Supercharger. My car will strictly be a street car, and maybe see a track or a car show every once in a while. Other wise the car will be a daily driver, and the engine has to be just as good, if not better than it was when bought off the showroom floor.
I would appreciate any referrals with phone and e-mail for any SD or OC Honda engine builders who are honest, do quality work, and who won't charge 2 arms and 2 legs for thier services. An arm and a leg will do just fine.
