Default Engine Rebuilding

I have a stock 94 LS integra, What can I do to make it like a 250-300 hp car. I live in Reno does anybody know of a good tunner shop close to Reno? Thanks.

OK.First off what are your goals? Are you going for all motor or tubocharged? If you plan to go all motor then you'l want to rebuild the engine, but personally I would rather get a vtec engine swap like b18c1 or c5 or b16.Just becuase your starting with more power and honestly there is nothing better than vtec (trust me i own a 95 integra ls myself,my buddys gsr leaves me in the dust!).But if you want to stay with the stock powerplant your best bet to get your projected hp (250-300) will be turbocharging. The good thing about the ls is that in stock form it can handle turbocharging BUT YOU MUST KEEP IT AT A LOW PSI, just so you dont put too much load on the engine.A good turbocharger should bring you from 143hp(stock ls) to around 230/240hp give or take.It really depends on the mileage and how well maintained the car is. good luck

How much do you have to spend?

Personally, I would fully rebuild the engine with some forged pistons and stronger rods and turbo it. You will not get anywhere near your goal unless you turbocharge it.

A nicely matched turbo setup will easily get you to your goal with minimal engine work.

Yea like shmoo said, you would want to beef up your pistons rods and valvetrain to raise boost, but an all motor ls???..........Good luck

You're gonna need to boost it to get to your goal. I agree 100% with Shmoo.

A larger turbo will create more power at a low psi than a small turbo will create at a high psi.

For example, my small TD05 19G turbo will need to be boosting around 10 psi to get the same results of a larger T3/T4 boosting 6 psi. The larger turbo flows more air than the smaller one, so it creates more power.

so its better and safer for the engine to get a big ass turbo and run it at a lower psi?
