Default 1993 LS Gauge Removal

My fiance's gauge lights are out, and was hoping the gauges would be easy to get to like my CRX, but looks like you have to take out the whole dash to get to the gauge cluster Is there an easier way? Hopefully I'm just missing something. Thanks.

okay here is what you do.... its simple really

the black trim around the cluster pops off, its just clipped in.

once you get that off (be carefull, it cracks easy) now unscrew the cluster. pull it out but go easy, there is a clip on the speedometer cable. you will be able to pull the cluster out far enough to reach your hand in there. disconnect that clip and you're in business.

Start by removing the heater and ac knobs. Just pull. Then remove the cover (pops out) (use a flat head) there are 2 or 3 screws now exposed.

Then go to the right of the heat bottons there is a little plastic cover there with lines going left to right. Very small....one screw back there.

Remove the 2 facing up by the plexyglass behind the steering wheel. (The obvious ones)

Now, then remove the drivers side change pocket (one screw there facing up).

Then remove the 2 screws that are a little lower on the same panel. Now your under dash is exposed.

Then there are 2 screws one on each side of the steering column area. There facing up and on the lip of the panel your tring to remove.

thats it, the just lightly pull and unplug the switches and there ya go. BE CAREFUL of the the spedo cable when removing the cluster. it unclips. you break it and it will be expensive and a pain in the pooper to replace. If you need pics or something, i can take some. It is easy one you find them the first time.

Have fun, take your time.
