all i want is 14's
i drive a 98 ls.... i've read topic after topic for the last 6 months, all i've done to my car thus far is aem cai, hks hyper exhaust, kyb agx with ground control coilovers, b&m fpr with gauge... i don't want to go f/i or nitrous(maybe nitrous, but i don't want to rely on it)... so i need a header and a high flow cat... i'm lookin at crower 403's, possibly 404's, adj cam gears, and safc... what else will i need to run mid 14's besides an immense amount of tuning. anybody recommend the 404's for daily driving or should i just stick with 403's? so help me out, what else will i need?

404's, might as well, get some head work (p&p), and you need valve springs and retainers with the cams (thats $300...) etc......
a new clutch wouldn't hurt, and some drag slicks....

I have a 97 integra ls . I have tanabe exuast straight pipe. dc headers, aem cam gears, UR pulleys b&m fpr guages, shortshifter, aem cold air intake, nitto drags, skunk 2 coilovers, strut bars, and a NOS kit spraying a 70 shot. and by best time was 14.3 @ 96.6 mph. All motor my best time was 15.5. To run in the mid 14,s its going to be a little diffecult.
1. We dont have vtec so we are under dogs.
2. You will need to build the motor up like pistons i suggest type r pistons compression 10.6
3.Cam gears, and some lumy cams prob would get u in the 14.,s
4.Or just get a vtec head and some drags.
Couple pics of my teg

Skunk2 intake manifold
Crower 404's
Crower springs & retainers
OBD2-OBD1 Conversion harness
Chipped obd1 LS ecu
4-1 header, pick your brand
High flow cat
ACT heavy duty clutch
7lb fidanza flywheel
ARP rod bolts if you plan on revving past 7.5k
That'll get you 14's.
On the other hand I love nitrous. $500, bolted on in 2 hrs, ran 14.5 with no traction and a slipping stock clutch.

umm 404's spring/retainers slicks or drag street tires, umm port match dont waste your money on the port and polish if your not gettin blown or turbod cause there isnt anypoint in it. might want to get a lighter flywheel, get cam gears (not aem only 3 bolts) umm get some kinda comp change over to obd1 or else jus get yours customly chipped for what you have after you put it all together and also i would reccomend on the 4-2-1 comptech header but its all up to you on that but go with the 4-2-1 cause i dont think you wanna rev past stock redline unless you dont want your setup to last over a year cause with it being a daily driver and having 404's its gonna give you a shortened life of the engine and you might wanna shoot some nos of sometype (i dont know much about bottle feeding) but that is your personal prefference too. well thats it have fun on your project

Please disregard poman's post. No benefits from p&p? Where'd you pull that from? Revving higher than the stock redline with a build valvetrain and ARP rod bolts is gonna kill the engine? Ok then. Oh yeah, those 404's like to blow motors.

For the amount of money it would take to convert over to OBD-1 you could get a Hypertech Shogun. It's a piggyback computer (i.e. kinda like an S-AFC) which lets you raise your rev limit plus adjust fuel and ignition timing.
