the above pic with pedro there is my vehicle.

trailer weighed ~ 220lb
mini weighed 965lb
also had ~200lbs worth of tools/etc in the back of the R, and at that point had a 6 point kirk roll cage installed, ~160lbs itself.

JDM FD
JDM ITR pistons, stock cams
550lb springs in back on bilsteins, still was a little too much tounge weight. only had a +1" drawbar, didn't have time to fab up a different one to level out the trailer.

with cruise control set around 72 mph, i still managed ~26 mpg towing the mini from orlando to baltimore.

obviously, the choice to tow with an R is only one that you can decide on your own, but it is definatly capable.

You could tow a motorcycle trailer and not be worried about damage, but anything bigger IS bad for an FF. They don't list the vehicles towing capacity for the specific reason that it wasn't meant to tow shit. They have a load capacity listed for inside the car and that's all you're supposed to do with it.

Tow at your own risk.

Thanks for the pics and comments, I have decided that I will tow with the R for my occasional track day. My passion for my car can now help feed my passion for motorcycles . . . can't think of a better pair to travel and spend the day with.

I think I'm gonna put some stickers on the trailer that say "TypeR6". I'll post up some pics when all is done.

Here is what I plan on getting:
- Drawtite class I trailer hitch
- Mini MC trailer off ebay (http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...category=34284)
OR UHaul MC trailer

What I'll be haulin:
R6 less than 400# (trailer)
EZ-UP (trailer)
Gear (in car)
Tools (in car)
Fuel (trailer)
Stands (trailer)

JoePannone: That is a real morris mini, with a custom front subframe to fit a honda B18C motor, that when complete, will push over 200whp easily. Integra dash, gauges, etc in it. Before you try to make a joke, find out what you are talking about first.

I tow my Kawasaki Ultra 150 jet ski with my '01 GS-R. It does say in the owner's manual not to tow with a Type R... why is that? What the difference?
