Anyone know about the Auto Butler Polishing System?
Well, I got the most recent spam mail from the local dealership out here, and they have something called the Auto Butler Polishing System with Paint Protection / Interior Protection. Who has done this or anyone know more about it? I have a '95 GSR right now and I'd like to get it detailed. I usually do this stuff myself, but it's a PIA during summer. Does it take care of industrial fallout like a claybar would?
Thanks,
Drew

Sounds like a scam to me, they would probaby charge you $200 for $30 in supplies.
Take your car to a high quality professional, or do it yourself. =)

Can you post the site?
I have had more experiance with dealership detailing and "protection" packages than I care to admit.
Most of the time, they use gimmicy products like "Teflon", and overcharge you for essentially a coat of wax that they "claim" will last years. Not to mention the detailing staff is often really poor, I have yet to find a dealership that doesn't end up swirling the hell out of the cars they wash, and use oilly fillers to remove the swirls instead of buffing them out properly.
Your best bet is to go to a professional detailer. Dealerships have to do alot of things, (sell cars, buy cars, sell used cars, sell parts, repairs) you can bet their detailing staff is more economic oriented rather than skilled high paid detailers.
A professional detailer is going to have alot more experiance, as they focus ONLY on detailing and detail day in and day out. It will probably be about the same cost, if not cheaper.
