go to www.cardomain.com/id/canimp83, the first picture on the page is what I am talking about painting and the stuff is highlighted in yelllow. The top piece is the thing that I am talking about. Can I just yank this off? (the top piece) cause it looks like its just held on with double sided tape or glue or something.

I wouldn't recommend just "Yanking" the moldings off. Even if they were just held on with double sided tape..."yanking" them off risks snapping them.

So can I just carefully pull it off? or is it held on with something else.

I'm not sure what it's held on with. But IF it's held on with Just double-sided tape...I'd be very careful about pulling it off.

check out the article on team-integra.net. i did mine and it worked perfectly. take them off ur car, its easier this way. remove ur door panels to take the ones off the door. then the ones on the rear quarter panel, pry off wit a screwdriver carefully. work on one side then pop off the rest. DO NOT bend these because the creases will not go away. take ur time and use caution not to bend them. u sand, then use adhesion promotor, then prime, then paint, then clear coat. this is the best way for them to match ur car perfectly.

Naw...I've never done anything like taking off moldings before. If you'd want to leave them on...just get some Masking Tape (preferably 3/4") & outline the moldings around the edges. Then paper off the rest of the car so that Overspray doesn't get on it. Then just paint the moldings while they're on the car. But be sure to sand the molding really well first. I recommend 3M Red Scotchbrite Scuff Pads. Be sure to get around the edges really well, too...because when paint begins to peal...it starts around the edges. If there is anything else I can help you with, lemme know.
