How miles are on your engine? Did you drive it hard very often? I'm just surprised to hear that you wore yours out. What parts exactly have cracks in them? And the head gasket blew?

Ive been looking on www.osakajdmmotors.com and they have some type R's for 3950-4200$ (depending on year) Just wondering how those prices sound to you guys. Also since i have the choice.. instead of the type R engine would you guys recommend me replacing it with something else. Since ive driven my Type R so much i dunno if i can put anything else in there and be happy with it. But im open for suggestions. Anyways thanks for any input.
that price is for a complete swap engine+trans+ecu if your motor is shot you should look for just the engine instead of the swap or you can sell the trans ,ecu, dist.ect

I'd like to hear more details on these so called cracks, before I say anything else.

Is your mechanic dealership affliated or does he specialize in Hondas and Japanese cars? I don't understand this major cracks stuff. Post some pics of the damage. And don't leave any of the "broken" stuff behind at that garage. He might be trying to scam you out of your ITR engine.

what did you do to blow your engine and cause cracks in it?

oh, and the link to that engine on osaka has too many extra parts. just like stereo said, if anything you really only need the block and head, not the extra parts like a/c and wiring harness and stuff. also, depending on the damage, you may just need only to get a block. just my 2 cents.

well heres an update. Today me and my brother went and picked up the car from the mechanic and brought it back to my house. We dropped the pan and immediately could see one major problem. The connecting rod is hanging down and the back of the block has about a inch strip going all the way up it that is broken. And there was obviously all kinds of metal shards in the pan. Im not sure if the piston broke or not because daylight is running out and i didnt have time to look at it... sighs...
