Default GSR Radiator

Well the radiator on the teg went. It looks like sort of a crappy part, which a search seems to support. Question is, do I get another stock radiator, or go aftermarket? Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Just get a generic from radiators.com. I got mine from there for dirt cheap, and it's been fine for 2 years now

Not bad for $89

How many miles did you get out of your radiator? How did it fail?

Thanks,

Scott

About 125,000 miles. I was drivng it on a cool night on the freeway, temp guage started to fluctuate, limped it to a gas station. It was steaming out of a seam. Filled it up with coolant and a little stop leak(I know, that stuff is nasty) and got it home. I think it will be another stock rad, but will check to make sure the cooling fan is kicking on too. Was not beating on it or anything, though I do that from time to time

That's a notorious place for stock radiators to fail when they get a little older. The top tank is plastic, and it cracks. I'd try and get one with a metal tank.

I went stock, because I don't want to have to adapt one that is not an exact fit. It was $500, if you can believe that. It looked to be blowing out on the driver's side on the end. Now I have something else to do on Sunday.

You bought a stock one for $500?!?!

Dude, the one I got from radiators.com cost me $89, fit as good as stock with only one additional O-ring to make the fit a little more than snug, and it came with a lifetime free replacement warranty....

Welcome to the first annual HAN Spelling bee... The first phrase for you, Tobra, is 'ripped off'. Usage in a sentace: 'You just got ripped off buying that.' Definition: To be cheated out of money.

:-P Sorry, hope its not shipped yet.
