Default Integra Sedan owners. I have an audio question.

Sorry, if I am posting in the wrong forum. But I figure I would get the best response in here. But Mods, move if you feel necessary. h:

Anyway. I need to know if any of you Sedan owners (mainly g3) have 6.5" speakers in your front doors. As of now, I have replaced the factory speakers with 5.25" but would like to see a set of 6.5"ers in there. I did some research on Crutchfield and it stated that both the 5.25" and the 6.5" will fit.

I know that the 5.25" speakers go inside that plastic basket, and I am sure that a set of 6.5" will not fit in that plastic opening. But, I was wondering if I wanted to mount a set of 6.5"ers in there, if all I had to do was to remove that plastic basket and just mount the woofer onto the sheetmetal.

Thanks.

WiLL

when i was doing my front speakers, i originally purchased 6.5" for the front. and once i found out that they were too deep for the baskets in the front, i changed to 5.25" as well. I purchased a rockford fosgate component system for the front, and the 5.25" speakers sounded just as good as the 6.5". besides, the rear sports 6x9's in the back, and that's where most of the power comes out. but you know what i found out after i put the 5.25" in? I found out that by cutting out the bottom of the baskets, you can indeed fit 6.5" in the front. I dunno how, but i didnt even mess with it. I heard that your window can end up bumping them when rolled down. I'd stick with the 5.25" up front and get some sick a$$ 6x9's in the back.

I fit 6.5" in mine, and modified the basket.

I dont know how you guys fit them in the stock baskets. When I look at the basket, the holes only fit for a 5.25" woofer  I am confused
