why mid 14's? you should shoot for low 14's high 13's...mid 14's is not very fast...my 240sx with intake runs mid 14's...my friend has an integra gsr engine with intake, exhaust, ecu upgrade and short shifter, new plugs and wires, ran a 14.2 on 87 octane....so you should at least go for low 14's....couple more simple mods and you should hit 13.9 at least...and once you are under 14 that is a quick car, not fast but quick...

I'd like to call bullshit on that... either that, or your friend is a complete moron to run anything less than 91 in a GS-R

I call BS as well. It would ping on 87 octane and run like shit.

INSERT FUNNY TEXT HERE h: :reechy:

Seriously though... 14.2 with half-assed boltons? With all of my mods and the weight saved in a lighter-than-stock battery and aluminum coilover suspension... I'd be lucky to break significantly into the 14s, let alone hit a 14.2...

Wouldn't you have to have something around 210-220 whp to get there?

It wouldn't take that much. I know someone from norcal that was running 14.6 with header and exhaust, but he was the best driver I've ever seen. I've seen people with around 200 whp run into the 13's with slicks. But 14.2 with intake, exhaust, ECU (worthless) and a short shifter...no way, especially on 87 octane.

Max redline of about 7500 on a stock B20 block...lots of torque, would pull hard with those cams.
this sounds like a sweet build here, and would easily get you to your goal of mid-high 14's.
