Default found a guy to rebuild

this is a great day for me, my dad told me all of a sudden that he knew a guy that rebuilds motor for a living. y didnt he tell me before... anyways i was gonna get a swap but now i will have him rebuild my motor do a 3 angle port, but i want new internals so i can boost my 91 ls. i was thinkin of dished pistons and rods what is a great set up from which companies. if i lower the compression but not put a turbo in it a the moment, will i have a problem driving.

a good low budget setup is Eagle H beams and SRP 9:1 with a block guard. If you build a low compression engine without the turbo you will actually be slower than before. Are you sure he didnt say a 3 angle valve job? Otherwise you would be looking at a 5 axis port job.

Not really, I run about 14 daily. :dunno:

You need to research and read a lot about what it takes to build for boost. Read this for starters: http://www.c-speedracing.com/howto/motorbuild/build.php

"dished pistons" doesn't mean a lot, it's all abou the compression ratio they are made to create

I wouldn't run Eagle/SRP if you plan to push 16psi daily. You'll need something much better like Crower or Pauter and some pistons that can withstand a good deal of a beating like ROSS for example. Also, it's nice to say "I wanna run 16psi :joshers:", but plan to spend a good deal of money to get there.
