Default Precautions for stored ITR

I have a 98 R with around 44,000 miles. The car has been stored since last june and I will finally be driving it again in a week. I was just wondering if there are any precautions i should take when i start driving it again since it has been sitting for so long. Obviously i will be changing the oil and putting fresh gas in it, but if there are any other precautions i should take i would appreciate the info.

Disable the ignition and fuel pump. Crank the ignition until there is some oil pressure. Other than what you have already mentioned, that's all you need to do really.

Starting a car while it's in hibernation for only a few minuets is not wise, there are many reasons. I'll start with the main one, your putting additional wear on the motor since there is no need to drive it. Second- starting the car and not letting it get to operqation temp is a way of adding moisture to the internals (condensation). If your worried about the battery keeping a charge then invest in a trickle charger.

But Now for things that should be done before starting.
check the oil and all fluids for moisture/ debri.
One question, How old is your gas? would you be able to dump it and put new gas in?
make sure all wires are connected.
Prime the motor as I quoted above.
start the car, do not drive it, just let it get to normal operating. Shut it down check fluids and then change the motor oil.
Better safe then sorry.
