LS TURBO vs. GSR TURBO
#11
i have talked to a guy who owns a shop around me and he has a type-r,
type-r block, si head 3angle, block bored out to 2.02, 7gs in custom cams, a blow head and a new 1, full rebuilt internals, and a turbonetics snail that could kill godzilla, and a ton of money in a rollcage 19gal fuel cell, lsd and crazy gear setup and he just hit 650hp, he has spent 40k on the whole thing so im not sure about making a safe 500+ hp for 10gs, i would like to see it if u do it.
i dont suggest buying a huge turbo straight out cuz i have seen way too many bottomends blown to sh*t

IF i did the exact same thing to both motors will the number be identical or would the gsr motor exceed the ls? I mean at 20 psi + will the difference be enough to make a gsr swap warrented?

Resleeving the motor (which is necessary for high boost anyways) and boring to a 2 liter is much better than stroking to a 2 liter. OEM internals won't make it past 300whp...which is far lower than his 500 hp goal. Even if he has VTEC, he still won't beat an LS making 20hp more and a good bit more torque than he is...unless his car is lighter.

yahs thats what i thought wen i seen the numbers.. 213 at 8 lbs is kinna low... the tuner told me if i was to switch to obd1 i will easly make up for the low numbers... was told i can get into 240-250 whp range after my 2nd tuning w/ obd1
