Default rattel

My, 1997 integra v-tech gsr, has a loud can sounding rattle in the front of the car when I hit about 3,000 rpm no matter what gear I'm in. My friend said it was the baffold. It runs perfect otherwise. Any suggestions.

It's spelled vtec not vtech. I had a similar problem on my LS and it turned out to be the heatshields on the exhaust.

Probably heat shields....mine does that when I hit a little over 4500...unfortunately I haven't gotten under the car to fix it yet....

Check the heat shields surrounding the catalytic converter and the exhaust manifold.
Obviously, use jackstands to support the car, and be careful not to burn yourself.

the heatshields are almost always behind this notorious rattle on tegs. do you have the stock header? there is a piece inside the collector of the stock header that is known to break off and start rattling too. just giving you another possibility.

See, that's awkward, I have a 96 GS-R, and when I mentioned it, everyone suggested it's probably the valves. Mine even does it @ the exact same rpms...
like 3000-3500 then it goes away right?

Guess you and I both are gonna have to jack em up.

It is either the manifold or the heat shields. In my case it was the A-pipe of the manifold. Stock OEM replacement: $600. I said screw it and put a DC sports header on there.
