If it happened at a track, there are track and safety personell to help him and to direct other cars safely away from the incident. On the street however there are many several factors that could've made the situation worse than what happened. Just be happy you're able to walk away from doing something stupid. Replacing parts will only cost you money. Replacing a life is impossible.
