If your car is stock it really doesn't make any noise at all...I love how people think that vtec should scream when its engaged. My car doesn't make any noise really when its passed 4500 but i feel it kick in at 6000rpm :chuckles:

Yeah ... I guess I knew the valves don't really "pop" open, but I didn't know of a better way to explain it. Something wasn't happening and it's all because of the stupid air filter.

Also, what exaclty is the solenoid? I think it has something to do with the valves in the VTEC system. Is it some sort of filter? Could somebody mess it up trying to look at it to see if it was the problem that my car "wasn't going into VTEC?" I wonder if this could be now causing my check engine light? Hmmm ... I shall see tomorrow with the help of the code list provided by Snoopy.

the VTEC solenoid is what sends the pins through the rocker arms so the larger lobe opens the valves with more duration and lift.

Also the screen on your solenoid gasket could be clogged.
